Monday Evening Mind Dump!

MMMU

  • Another great group gathering with some men at GCC who really want to be the godly leaders God meant for them to be. It starts with going the extra mile—these men get up at the crack of dawn and gather at GCC as the sun comes up—no better way to start the day than with God and other brothers in Christ!
  • I am SO PUMPED about Grace’s first ever group of “Mighty Men!” Who are the Mighty Men? The name comes from an elite group of extraordinary warriors and leaders who supported God’s vision for Israel and it’s people. They were lead by David (Later King David) and often carried out God sized visions against impossible odds. In short, they were real men! In a day when manhood and masculinity is under attack like no other time—it’s good to know that God will still raise up men who have a heart for Him!

I confess, I rather sheepishly hoped we’d get at least seven or eight guys to apply for the one year Mighty Man training—and prayed for a miraculous “ten” to show God’s extreme favor. After all, the first time I ran this was at a church of over two thousand, and we had nineteen. I knew there was no way we were going to get that.

Oh Ye of little faith!

As the deadline to apply came and went last night…ready for this? We had almost thirty applicants to be Grace’s first ever Might Men! I am beyond pumped about what God is going to do in these men’s lives over the next year! Please pray for them and me as I go over the applications in the next month and pray about that final group.

  • Wow! Can you believe the two best football teams on the planet are both undefeated?! In fact, they are on a collision course for the Super Bowl!! Of course I am talking about the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers! Wouldn’t that be a fun match up?! Is it okay to pray for that? Too late–I’m doing it!
  • The Big Day is almost upon us—I’m talking about the big announcement about Grace’s exciting future. All I can say about it is that you will NOT want to miss this coming Sunday! Do everything you can to be there—you’ll be glad you did!
