How’s this day of torture and darkness ever become known for healing and light? How in the world does the ‘day God died’ become a holiday to be celebrated throughout the ages?
• The beatings were unimaginably painful and cruel
• The Savior was perfectly innocent and the embodiment of pure love—even for enemies of God.
• The Cross was the cruelest torture ever devised my mankind.
• The people He ministered to were unbelievably ungrateful and fickle.
• The sacrifice too great.
• The price too high.
So, again…what’s so good about Good Friday.
It’s what Jesus purchased on the cross. He secured victory over death, disease, and Hell! Yes a high price was paid—by the only One who could afford it—Jesus Christ. He was bruised and broken for us—beautifully broken. And for all those who place their trust in Him for salvation get something.
Something good—eternal life.
And something VERY good—Jesus!
Many people in our culture today are not even aware of Good Friday anymore. If they are, they are not sure what it means or how it could possibly be relevant to their lives today. That’s why we need to invite everyone we can to tomorrow night’s Good Friday service at Grace Community Church! You can get details here. Let’s pack the place out and believe God for great big things!
