· Today surpassed so many of our expectations for what God would do! About 500 people joined us for the Grand Opening of Impact Church! No more “Launch Talk,” now we are LIVE!
· Today people discovered what it takes to move from simply “doing church” to being part of a real and life changing movement of God! And it may have been day 1, but honestly, from the get go—the worship was among the most powerful and anointed I have ever been a part of! All 12 of the praise and worship team members—assembled from all over the country—came together and led worship like they’d been doing this for years! What I witnessed today was so authentic and potent that there’s simply no way it’s not going to explode into something huge for the glory of God! The devil should be worried!
· So glad we had the cookout planned as well—people hung out deep into the afternoon fellowshipping, playing games, photo-boothing (It’s a word now!), of course, eating, and just getting to know this new church.
· But the greatest impact of the day on me personally was the presence of the Lord in and among His people! Without that we are just another gathering of people studying ancient facts from a book. This morning the Word was present!
· Special thanks to the sea of volunteers who made it all possible! We have the best volunteers on the planet!—The makings of something very, very special! I know a lot of people feel that way, but one thing that I saw (that’s rare) that makes me feel this way was the selfless attentiveness to our many, many guests. After 10 months of living as a launch team it would have been a real temptation to hold on tightly to this new church and be weary of “all those new people,” but clearly our focus is right where it needs to be—on loving the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, and strength, and loving our neighbors as ourselves!
· All this, and we’re just getting started! The best is yet to come!
