Brace for IMPACT! Prayer – Day 3

Saturday – July 27th

God, remind us that Impact Church does not exist for us. It is Yours. Give us the intentionality and focus to live out the mission You have given to us: We exist to impact the church, community, and the culture with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Amen.

It’s true you know. Impact church isn’t ours—it’s God’s. In fact, as believers, nothing we think we own do we really own. We’re just stewards (managers) of all the good things God has given us and we are to use all that we have, and all that we are to bring glory to Jesus Christ! At Impact we remember it by thinking of the 5 G’s

Glorify – Lift high the name of Jesus and worship and praise Him with our whole mind, body, soul, and strength!

Go – We are to go out into the world and tell them the good news of the gospel message.

Give – We are to give of our talents, treasures and time to both God and others.

Gather – We are to gather together with other believers for corporate worship AND in smaller groups. Real life change happens in small groups (We call them, “Lifegroups” at Impact).

Grow – Once saved, each believer should seek to get to know the Savior better through prayer and Bible study as well as the spiritual disciplines.

All 5 of these purposes are based on 2 key scriptures known as the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. They are found in Matthew 28:19-29,

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

And the Great Commandment is found in Matthew 22:37-40,

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
