· Another record Sunday crowd as the Impact Launch team continues to grow! More and more people are joining hands with us for a vision to make an impact all around Charlotte and beyond—for Jesus! First from those being saved (Just like it was in the early church!! In Acts 2:47, “…And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”) and then from believers excited about the notion of growing deep AND wide!
· This morning we laid the foundation for our adventure through the gospel of Luke! This gospel was written in an entirely different way than the other three. It was penned as a gathering of as many eyewitness accounts as Dr. Luke could possibly find among those (still alive some 30 years after Jesus ascended into heaven) who saw the miracles and heard the teachings of Jesus first hand. Not only that, but it was also written from a former skeptic turned believer. Who could possibly do a better job making a ‘case for Christ’ than one who set out to find flaws and errors disproving it and ended up converted? Many biblical scholers believe that was the way Luke started out—and it was certainly the way his financer, Theophilus began. So, if you’ve ever had doubts (and who hasn’t) or simply want to be more sure in your faith—this study is for you!
· Apparently there were a few who thought I said Mark AND John wrote the gospel of Mark. Nope. It was one man with BOTH names—John Mark. Just saying.
· The Christian film (minus the all too usual cheesy acting), Home Run comes out this week. Invite a lost friend, family members, neighbors and whoever else you can find as the gospel is supposed to be pretty clear in the film. Another reason to be excited about it is because our new worship director, Will Retherford has a song on the soundtrack!! Wooo Whoo! Go pick up a copy of the CD today!
