- Another great group today! More new folks and our first week at Weddington Middle School! Love how the presence of the Lord and the preaching of His Word is all you really need. Sure, people are excited about adding things each week, but I am floored at how much joy there is with such simplicity! Love it!
- Each week we seem to grow by 30 – 50 people and that tells me one very important part of our DNA is very much in place—we are a church that has an inviting culture. It’s important that we never lose that so I’m pumped it’s showing up in force this early on. One of our core values at Impact Church is evangelism. I like the way my friend, Perry Noble put it in a recent post. He said, “Found People Find People!” Gang, I promise you, every week is an EXCELLENT time to invite a family member or a friend to church. Don’t give up on them…remember God didn’t give up on you…and it was His patience (II Peter 3:9) and His kindness (Romans 2:4) that brought us to Him!!! My prayer is that we are known for our patience and kindness!!!
- Other DNA that’s pleasing to God is that we are already a “House of Prayer” as God referred to His Temple (also what His church should be) in Isaiah 56:7, “…my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” Seriously, prayer is vital for Christ’s bride! It’s the fuel that keeps the church thriving and moving forward. Churches that don’t pray much might look like they’re moving forward, but they’re just going in circles.
- A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all the Impact launch volunteers who set up, tore down, taught the kids, met with the students, led in worship, worked the parking lot, children’s check in, hospitality ,etc!!! Can you believe that was just the 4th week of a launch team??!! Friends, most churches don’t ever get to that size—EVER! And God has already blessed us with a core team bigger than most churches! So let’s be good stewards of what we have and always foster a culture that puts others first and warmly welcomes them into our fellowship.
You all hit it out of the park! Can’t wait for week two at the school!
