Tuesday Evening Mind Dump

  • What an incredible week it was all around for Southbrook Church to build His kingdom! I know this is three days late, but that’s how much was going on! First, our second Haiti missions team of the year (6 total trips are planned for the year with around 100 people making the journey) returned this past Friday and they are flat out FIRED UP! No use trying to hold them back (and why would we want to?), they’re determined to bring twice as many next time! Once you see the need and serve these people like Jesus—very little else in life will compare! If you’re wavering, talk to one of these folks—bet you end up leaning toward going after that!

  • A few weeks ago, as we neared the end of a wonderful journey through the gospel of John, the Lord kept impressing upon me the need to pause one weekend before the next series in order to teach the Southbrook family about what it really means to not just “believe,” but “belong.” What it means to really be a part of a church family. This past weekend I showed that partnering with a local church is a matter of biblical obedience—not personal preference.
  • Satan tried last night. One of the worst storms of the year hit 30 minutes before our membership class. Past experience has taught us that this can wipe out attendance at anything. Nearly a hundred storm chasers still showed up! The Southbrook family is serious about moving from fans to followers!
