- Heard from my very favorite speaker today—my wife, Michelle. It was nice to have her kick off each service with a message to the mom’s in the crowd. She spoke on allowing God to mold you into the unique vessel He created you to be—even when it’s tough—it’s worth it!
- Today was week two of our series on the life of Jonah, called, “The Deep.” I talked about what a bad idea it is for anyone to run from God. Everyone should avoid running from God because of three very likely dangers…
1. The danger of weathering storms alone
2. The danger of hurting those around you
3. The danger of hurting yourself
These aren’t far fetched either—and they weren’t limited to the life of Jonah. You and I might not find ourselves in the belly of the great fish (or whale) but thing might get so bad will wish we were!
Stop running! God loves you. James 4:8 says,
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you!”
What are you waiting for?
- Couple other lessons form this first chapter…
1. Every step out of God’s will is a step ‘downward!’
2. We get away quickly, but recover slowly.
3. Satan can work through circumstances, just like God!
4. When we run from God, Satan will be more than happy to provide the transportation!
