Wow! What a great weekend! To God be the glory!
- In all our services this weekend—at both campuses—hundreds came forward @ the good ole altar call to follow Jesus! 505! Some crossing over completely from fan to follower! Others who are already following but want to grow even closer in 2011 and everything in between!
- We also baptized 34 people! That never gets old!
- In this unique service people had the opportunity to come up to computer stations and type a praise, prayer, or testimony of what the Lord is doing in their lives as they get out of the stands of Christianity and onto the field as completely committed followers of Jesus Christ. It was awesome to read the prayers on the big screen as they kept scrolling through!
- No books, no lists, nothing to sign—today was all about standing before the church family of Southbrook and God in order to make the commitment–one of the heart. If you were one of the more than 500 who stood at the altar as a living sacrifice to Jesus but did not turn in a card—please notify us asap @ the church offices so that we can give you the tools you need for this one year adventure of chasing God! This week we will start rolling out the 1 year read through the Bible plan, opportunities to deepen your prayer life, missions (both local and international), Lifegroup opportunities and learning together to become a generous church!
- Fans never change anything. Followers changed the world and continue to do so!
- Fans are fickle—hopping from church to church to church with an ever evolving list of ‘needs’ that no church seems able to satisfy.
- Followers are faithful—desiring above all things to just ‘be with Jesus’ more and more and more!
- Jesus came to set us free from the tyranny of sin and death—not to make our dreams come true. What dream could be better than being adopted as sons and daughters of the living God?!
- Jesus isn’t your stockbroker, manager, agent, lottery ticket, homeboy or good buddy upstairs. He’s the Son of God, Messiah, the Christ, Alpha and Omega, the Great ‘I Am,’ Emmanuel, Prince of Peace, Mighty God, Everlasting Father!
- Jesus does care about your dreams but only after they line up with His! The dreams of a Christ follower should line-up with the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
