100 Days

Hey Gang! Did you forget about this?

Hope not. The 100 day challenge is in full swing and I wanted to give an update.

  • To date, most seem to be keeping up with the Bible reading and prayer
  • About a third are tithing all out and another third seem to be making an effort
  • About a third have participated in a local outreach
  • Almost half are in a lifegroup

We are a little over halfway and I actually wanted to encourage you! Sure, you could read into these stats and see that some are not following through on their commitment to God, but you can also see that most are trying and all of you need to know we serve a gracious God. Our great Lord longs to spend time with His children. He wants you to love Him more than your stuff, to care about others and to want to fellowship with the saints. I’ve never known Him to get angry when we make and effort. But here’s what I have known…

God is a great rewarder of those who chase after Him with all they’ve got! Plus, we are comanded to do so in the greatest of all commandments…

In the Old Testament,

“seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29

and the new,

Matthew 22:36-38 says, ““Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”  Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

Let’s chase after Him today and see how it goes!
