Sunday Evening Mind Dump

Another great week @ Southbrook Church! Yes, we’ve seen quite a few people bend the knee to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (and BTW, it’s both—Savior AND Lord ) but this year (thus far) seems to be marked by those wanting to take it deeper than ever with their vertical relationship. That’s awesome, because a healthy church must major on both. It reminds me of that Sunday School song in children’s church growing up—”Deep and Wide.”

Again, it’s both.

  • More people again on Wednesday! Amazing to me that people keep coming out to hear hard teaching on such a tough subject. Remember what I said (It’s a Driscollism—As in, Pastor Mark Driscoll), “Hard teaching produces soft hearts and soft teaching produces hard hearts.” We’re seeing this lived out @ Southbrook Church!

  • That hurt!—Watching Brett Farve miss out on the Superbowl with that bad descision @ the end of regulation play! What was he thinking?! Oh well, the guy is still a legend!
  • Getting pretty pumped about the Mexico Mission’s Trip! All the Singleton’s are going and I have a feeling this will be life changing for all of us!
  • Got a chance to help at the Samaritan’s Feet Warehouse! Our family (as well as all the others going on the Mexico Missions Trip) packed and labeled hundreds of shoes for shipment to both Mexico and Haiti! More on this Manana!
