Last 7 days have been my favorite in quite some time!
- It began early Monday morning with nearly 80 men meeting to hear how they could deepen their walk with God and carry the mantle of leadership the Lord has placed upon them.
- It continued Wednesday evening with the return of our Midweek service—the hunger for more of God blew us all away! We didn’t have half enough chairs out for the crowd God brought! Praying that fire continues to grow and that more and more people join us at the Brook for more of Jesus!
- It culminated this weekend as we returned to our “Divine” series—”The Gospel According to John.” Again we had to put chairs out once the center bleachers filled! People aren’t done with God. They’re just getting started!
- Little becomes much when God is in it! Don’t forget that!
- Do you know Jesus for who He really is? Or…for who you want Him to be?
- If we are ever going to be everything God called us to be we cannot simply, “play it safe!”
- BTW, My wife doesn’t really shoot lasers from her eyes that kill puppies when she’s mad. But if she did? I wouldn’t try to fix her!
- Most thought provoking line of the week comes from a Michael Card song, “What will it take to keep you from Jesus?”
- Our prayer time after each service has become real special for me as I connect with the Southbrook family and they share their trials as well as their praises. It’s all a part of life.
- Learning to slow down as we go through the book of John. What’s the hurry? More important that we soak in all that God has for us.
- Loved watching Kurt Warner (QB for the Arizona Cardinals) lead his team to victory tonight in one of the most nail-biting playoff games ever! That dude is serious about Jesus and as much as football means to him, it’s nothing compared to Jesus. In fact, he’s said that football is just a means to an end. It’s Christ that matters most in this life! Kinda makes you want to see him go all the way, huh?
- Spent time with Michelle, the kids and the grandparents. Family time is great! I don’t get enough of it!
- Even though it’s after 10:00 pm and I have tomorrow to do this—I am already working on the details for the Midweek message. This topic is so important to me that I want to get it exactly right! Come on out for this service at 6:30 pm Wednesday in the main auditorium at the Weddington campus is you need more of Jesus!
- Even though we are planning a four week series beginning at the end of February, those who know about it can hardly contain themselves. I can’t tell you what it’s about (you know the routine: I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you. And that would look bad on my ministry resume!).
