A few thoughts on an amazing week at Southbrook Church…
- What could be better than kicking it all off with 121 new brothers and sisters in Christ joining the family of God?!
- Looking forward to a mini-break—Geoffrey Janes (Southbrook Monroe Campus Pastor) preached today at the Weddington campus and the Monroe campus!
- Kinda weird (in a good way) to sit in the congregation at Southbrook (with my family. Thanks Southbrook!) and enjoy a service from that perspective.
- Did I already mention that 121 people gave Their lives to Jesus?! Oh, I see I did, above there…Whoo Hoo anyway!!
- We see God most clearly through the thick and murky clouds of a storm.
- Trying to figure out the secret to how Jesus kept from defending Himself against those who lied about Him, criticized Him and constantly had it in for Him because, well, maybe it’s because our Father in heaven is a better defender than we will ever be. But Jesus IS God and He still didn’t waste time defending Himself or chasing down those who sought to derail Him.
- Now all I have to do is remember that.
- Monday Morning Man Up time is almost upon us! January 4th begins the first Monday for all the men of Southbrook—young, old and everyone in between needs to be there for this! We will have a special guest sharing along side me.
- It’s daunting to think about all we need to do now to assure we are faithful in discipling these new believers!
- Thought about how often I beg God to do something and then complain about the way He does it!
- Gearing up for the return of our Midweek services (announced today) in January. As soon as we have all the childcare and classes ready—we’ll launch. I mentioned the 6th and we are still shooting for that. Oh, and I’d tell you what the much anticipated topic is but I already told the folks today at SCC (during the announcements) that they would have to show up to find out. No better deal for blog readers—sorry.
- Nevertheless…It’s something so HUGE it usually spells the difference between a church and believer that does tremendous things for the Kingdom of God and ones that do next to nothing.
- Which group do you want to be in?
- 2010’ is shaping up to be another amazing year at Southbrook Church! I’m humbled and honored to be your pastor. Let’s make this coming year a really, really bad one for Satan and a really, really, really, really GREAT one for Jesus!
That’s all for now. You all rock, Brookies!
