When it comes to God, a relatively new trend is to take God for a test drive. You know, maybe pick one or two of the more enticing promises ( i.e. ‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.’ — OOooowwwweee, now THAT’S a fun one, isn’t it?!) and give God a whole week to comply.
When we do this, we demo God and essentially attempt to hold Him hostage to our demands. But God isn’t going to be complicit in your personal ponzi scheme. You’ve got things upside down!
And God doesn’t want a piece of you either. He wants all of you.
In return He’ll give you that life you’ve always wanted.
But don’t even think of pulling a bait and switch on Him. He’s smarter than you.
So here’s the deal. You give you’re all and He’ll give you His all (and in the battle of ‘alls’ He wins every time).
But you give Him just a portion of your life—a portion of your commitment and heart—and you get nothing.
You can’t demo God.
It’s all of nothing.
