All the Way My Savior Leads Me

It’s 3:00 am again. No use sleeping—and I so desperately needed to. But I know the drill by now.

You stir me. I will awake.

You whisper to me. I will listen.

You lead me I follow.

So what is it, Lord, You want to say to me this morning?

Usually I go straight to His Word for the answer but today I did something different and about 1 minute into it, I knew.

I tuned in to my ipod and put some worship music on and Brandon Heath’s, “Give Me Your Eyes” came on. Immediately, that became my prayer—especially in light of yesterday’s post.

You see, as far back as I can remember, I have always had a burning sense of urgency for those who are far from God to be brought near. Since I was a young child I would tell everyone who would who would lend me their ear for 5 seconds or more (a rare experience for a 7 year old) about the incredible love of Jesus.

My son has the same curse blessing.

Yeah, defiantly a blessing.

And the Lord is telling me that, ‘as the days grow darker my eyes need to be sharper—as people’s sensitivity for the things of God fades more and more, my ears need to be attuned to even the slightest spiritual sounds.

That’s all for now but I’m moving on to His Word now—looking out and listening carefully for more. But right now I’m sure He wants me up and praying. Chris Tomlin’s , “All the Way, My Savior Leads Me” is playing.

Even still, I sense in my spirit that this is not what He woke me for so I will watch and wait.

But I promise…

When I hear more, you’ll be the first to know.

* Ok, I know

Well, it’s now 4:30 in the morning and I have had my daily Q.T. with Jesus (albeit, a whole lot earlier than planned  ). Here’s the Word:

1 May God be merciful and bless us.
May his face smile with favor on us.
                         Interlude

2 May your ways be known throughout the earth,
your saving power among people everywhere.
3 May the nations praise you, O God.
Yes, may all the nations praise you.
4 Let the whole world sing for joy,
because you govern the nations with justice
and guide the people of the whole world.
                         Interlude

5 May the nations praise you, O God.
Yes, may all the nations praise you.
6 Then the earth will yield its harvests,
and God, our God, will richly bless us.
7 Yes, God will bless us,
and people all over the world will fear him.

Just yesterday I was asked a question I’ve answered hundreds of times…

What’s your vision for Southbrook Church. I gave my usual, ‘to see those who are far from Christ brought near.’ It’s really that simple. But this time they wanted to know something a little different.

“What does that look like for the church?”

So I unashamedly shared that I hope God will use Southbrook to reach the whole world. I want us to have a global impact.

Is that arrogant?

Only if Billy Graham is arrogant.
