There’s much talk and even more panic about the coming complete economic meltdown for Americans. And along with such talk and emotional unraveling is the ever present finger pointing. Here’s a small sampling of what I’ve heard just this week:
- Republicans are to blame
- Democrats are to blame
- President Bush caused this
- Barney Frank (democrat) had the chair for financial over-site. He failed.
- McCain’s plan won’t work
- Obama is naive and doesn’t understand the really issues
- Governor Palin is a phenomenal breath of fresh air
- Governor Palin should be replaced.
- Biden ought to step aside so they can bring Hillary in.
And, since things are an absolute mess, it seems that whoever can really bring the opposite will probably win the people’s vote. So the “Change” mantra has been the favorite flag to wave. Obama started with it and McCain has used it as well as the political Maverick.
But this isn’t the first time “change” has been so effectively used in politics. In fact, “change” is probably the most attention getting position to stake yourself to today as well as over the centuries.
What most people are not seeing, however, is the big picture. Instead of the great exchange every four or eight years and “changing everything up.” Wouldn’t it be great to clean things up once and for all, bring back honesty and character, godly morals and a Christian worldview and then not change?
The Bible teaches is that God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Faithful and Loving.
Why don’t we follow Him and live as though He is in charge (because, ultimately, he is).
One final change and then we’re done.
