Ok, ok, I admit it, I really haven’t said much about the old, “Fear of rejection†thing.
Wanna know why?
Doesn’t matter, I’m going to tell you anyway.
It’s because, even though I’ve felt it plenty of times myself, I always come back to the truth that that fear is from the evil one and he (Satan) presents it in a much scarier package than it really is.
Once you unwrap it and hold it up to the light, it’s almost embarrassing that we ever feel this way at all.
But it’s also understandable.
We want people to like us.
I haven’t heard of too many individuals whose goal in life is to be hated.
Ok, maybe Dennis Rodman, but you gotta admit, he’s a bit of a maverick.
No, most people will do just about anything to be liked. No one likes rejection, or even the possibility of it. However…
Sometimes it’s a distinct possibility and there is nothing you can do about it. It’s at those times where we most hold that fear up to the light and decide whether what we are offering is ‘worth the risk’ or not.
And what are we offering?
Reconciliation with our Creator through His Son Jesus Christ.
He’s the only way.
The only truth
The only life
They’ll ever have.
And, should they bend the knee to Jesus?
Well, it would be well worth the risk of rejection.
I have more to say on this, so, as you’re probably used to by now, let’s call this…
