Monday Evening Mind Dump

final midweek (1)

  • Yesterday was Part 2 of our, “I Love My Church!”  series, and we talked about my favorite thing about church, period—the presence of God. We should not simply take it for granted that because we go to a church that claims to be “Biblical” and “Evangelical” that the Holy Spirit is there. Sometimes churches ‘program’ the Holy Spirit right out of the service. That’s why we desperately seek Him each week and invite Him to be the center of all we do. We know that without God’s presence, we’d just be ‘putting on a show’ in our own humanness…boring! You don’t experience life transformation that way! So I love it when God shows up! When God shows up, great things happen every time!
  • We had our last Midweek service of 2015 this past week and it was by far the biggest and most impactful! It was extra special to spend the evening with brothers and sisters from Summit singing praises and partaking of the Lord’s Supper together. And the best thing? You should have guessed by now…God was there!
  • We’re gearing up for a very special Christmas at The Summit! You’ll be hearing more and more about it starting THIS weekend. Suffice it to say, you will want to invite everyone you know to one of our three Christmas Eve services. You might even want to tell them now so they don’t make other plans. And MOST importantly, anyone you know who does not know Jesus as Lord and Savior needs to be at one of these services. The gospel will be going out in a clear and compelling way and we expect God to move big once again! Seriously, nearly 200 people have already bent the knee to Jesus since April of this year—I’m expecting the harvest at Christmas Eve to be even bigger than Easter!
