Most Christians know that this is the busiest time of year for churches. Easter is even bigger than Christmas, when it comes to church attendance. So, we always encourage our members to invite friends and family to visit, but we understand that it may not always be easy to do so. Just in case you need a few suggestions to invite a friend, here they are:

  1. You can start at our digital front door—tell them to visit our website. That way, they can learn all about our ministries, what we do, and see videos of our past sermon series. Visiting our site (especially watching sermons) is the best way to get a sense of who we are.
  2. Many people just want to hear real life, inspirational stories, and will often be surprised to find out who has a powerful testimony about their faith. Sharing videos like this one of famous comedian Kevin Hart may soften the boundaries people feel about coming to church.
  3. Speaking of stories, it might be a good idea to remind people that we are wrapping up a “Story Series” right now! So how about dropping a hint about Easter? We can’t give everything away, but just know that our Easter presentation “The Greatest Story Ever Told” will be featuring another POWERFUL testimony that will speak deeply to everyone in his or her walk of life whether they grew up in church or didn’t; no matter what their struggles are or were.
  4. Using music is a great way to get people to come. Many people tell us how awesome our worship teams at GCC are. Music is a powerful motivator. Use some of Christian music’s most influential songs to speak to the hearts of your friends and family. I suggest downloading one of the following songs (just some of my favorites to get you started) and simply playing them while your with the friend you want to invite. They’re powerful songs with deep messages, but many contain scripture, and God’s Word is never spoken or sang without impact! You could try, Oceans by Hillsong United, I Am Set Free by All Sons and Daughters, or Love Came Down by Kari Jobe
  5. Finally, just knowing your friend/family member and his/her interests is the best way to invite them to an Easter service. You know what that person enjoys more than we do. If you think the sermons will resonate with them, mention how the messages resonate with you. If this person is a parent, talk about our amazing KidConnect ministry. We have so many varieties of people and services here that will appeal to tons of people.

I’m more excited about what God will do this Easter than ever before! Pray for the harvest! And expect great big things from our great big God!
