·      At last the long wait is over and our new worship director, Will Retherford has arrived for good! In fact, worship was absolutely off the hook today! And the time of prayer and brokenness for families and individuals during communion was what it’s all about. We’re named IMPACT, but we realize the best way to see an impact in the lives of people is through an encounter with the living God—not anything slick we pull off in our own strength, but only what we experience of the Savior!

·      Had a huge number of students turn out for youth tonight—both middle school and high school. Here’s why I am so excited about our students… THEY run it! That’s right, it’s not “sit and soak” while a talking head tells you what’s wrong with you. It’s dozens of kids taking their faith to the next level by owning it! I’ve rarely witnessed a group of students with bigger faith than I see at Impact. That’s why I fully expect God to do great things through these young people!

·      When I mentioned that one of God’s greatest gifts to His children is “brokenness” you would have thought aliens took beamed the congregation away and replaced them with crickets! But it’s true! If brokenness is the only thing that will bring us to the end of ourselves and the beginning of God—then it’s WORTH IT! Every time! How do we get there? One word (I warn you, it’s seen by many today as a 4 letter word) “Repentance.” When it’s genuine it starts with sorrow, moves to switching things around in one’s life and blossoms into celebration. If it looks like anything other than that it’s probably not the real deal. Just saying.
