Sometimes we “Americans” seem to throw in a holiday for just about anything we can think of. Let’s take just May alone and I think you’ll see what I mean:

• National Barbecue Month
• National Bike Month
• National Blood Pressure Month
• National Hamburger Month
• National Photograph Month
• National Recommitment Month
• National Salad Month
• Older Americans Month
Ok, I’ll give you the “Foster Care” one. Who could argue with that? But some of those are pretty cheesy! I mean, does the Barbecue industry feel that slighted that they need an entire month to raise awareness to their plight? And if so, why not July? At least it’s hot in July. This is the coldest May since the Ice Age! I think my grill is frozen!
And what about specific weeks in May? Or days? Turns out they’re covered too.
• Nurse’s Week – first week of month
• Wildflower Week – week two
• National Bike Week – third week
• National Police Week – third week of month
• Emergency Medical Services Week – fourth week of month
I’m not even going to list the days—turns out every single day has a special designation. Some days have three or four! If you really must know them, you can go here and see them for yourself. As for me. I’m already drifting too far from my point…
Which is, “Mother’s Day!”
At Impact Church we want to make it special because moms really deserve it for all they do. But you know what your mom probably wants more than anything? She wants to have a special day with all of her family—just give her your undivided attention for one day and make it all about her. That’s not asking too much is it?
In fact, we’ll help you capture the memory at Impact. Bring your mom THIS Sunday to Impact and we will have two photographers on hand ready to take a family portrait—an 8×10 that your mom can pick up right after the service! In addition, my favorite speaker—my wife, Michelle—will be bringing a very special Mother’s Day message that you won’t want to miss!
