Sunday Evening Mind Dump!

·      Thanks for the break faithful readers! It was so nice to spend time with the family on Easter break!

·      Another AWESOME couple weeks @ Impact Church! Last week was Easter and all 3 services (Good Friday included) were well attended! But better than that, the Bible series and Easter saw 134 total decisions for Christ!! 44 were first time decisions and 90 others stood before their brothers and sisters declaring their desire to recommit their lives to being fully committed followers of Jesus Christ!!

·      Most powerful point of the message (for all those who chose to heed it)…

This will be the best year ever for you if it’s your best year spiritually!’

·      Religion is all about changing the outside. Relationship is all about changing the inside. Real change happens from the inside out, not the outside in.

·      Nearly 80% of people polled say they are “Christian.” Only 7% of that 80% who say they are Christians would say that because of their Christianity their life has changed AT ALL!! Which means they are linking Christianity with something other than what it is really all about! Real Christianity is when a person becomes brand new on the inside! He is NOT the same anymore!

·      Thrilled to be starting another series through a book of the Bible next week!! Starting next week we will begin a journey through the gospel of Luke entitled, “Rx, God’s Prescriptions for Abundant Living.” What makes Luke different from the other gospels is its intended audience. Luke was the only gospel writer who was a non Jew. Matthew was a Jew who wrote not only from a Jewish perspective, but also to a Jewish audience with the intent of presenting Jesus as the King of the Jews. Mark (also a Jew) presented Jesus as a Servant and wrote to the Romans. John was a Jew as well and presented Jesus as the Son of God. He wrote to all men. Luke, as I said, was not a Jew, but rather a Greek and because the Greeks were fascinated with Aristotle’s ideal republic and Plato’s ideal man, Luke writes of Jesus as the Son of Man, the perfect Man. Make plans to join us for this incredible journey through the gospel most referred to for Christendom’s 2 biggest days of the year—Christmas and Easter. ·      Have you ever doubted your faith? Ever wondered if you’re really saved? Jesus is really God? There’s really a heaven? Then this series will be especially beneficial to you. Luke 1:4 tells one of the main objectives of the book,

so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were taught.”

            See you this weekend!
