Your Next Move

Were you one of the 110 people who made a decision for Christ on Christmas Eve @ Impact Church? If so, this is a very critical time in your brand new life in Christ!

First, there were 2 groups that night.

  1. 64 Brand new Christians
  2. 46 who recommitted their lives to Jesus

Your next steps are similar, but there are also some very important differences.

First, the similarities:

Jesus left us with five solid purposes with which to focus our lives around. And no, they are not, Politics, Wealth, Health, Prosperity or popularity. Those are the world’s five purposes and 99.999% of people who do not know Christ spend their entire lives pursuing one or all of those to no avail. The rest follow God’s purposes instead. His come from 2 key scriptures. Here they are:

The Great Commission (The What)

“Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:18-20

In layman’s terms, this has three of the five purposes including, 1. Telling others about Jesus (being a witness, inviting them to church, living a godly life). 2. Helping others and yourself to grow to maturity in Christ. 3. Baptizing new believers

The Great Commandment (The How)

28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:28-31

These are pretty straight forward—simple really—but for some unknown reason they are anything but easy for most believers to live out.

  1. Love God more than anyone or anything!
  2. Love our neighbor (everyone else) at least as much as we love ourselves.

Join us tomorrow as we talk about how to get your live on the right track for God and keep it that way!
