Sunday Evening Mind Dump!

  • Great to see all the crowds! Challenged them to “Give us a year.” Church shopping and hopping in the South is an Olympic sport, but God wants each of us to belong to a church family and dive in with all we’re got. That’s hard to do (read here: impossible) when we go to one church for the music, another for the preaching, maybe another for their student ministry and so on. Stop the Hop!
  • This time of year (every year) people take a look at their lives and make the determination that some (or many) things could use an upgrade. Right after making this determination they usually default to the only path they are aware of—resolutions. But friends, New Year’s Resolutions don’t usually work. I can’t just white knuckle my way to the me I want to be. Only God can empower me to change. I’m excited about how many people seem up to the challenge this year @Southbrook Church! Gonna be the best year ever!
  • 2,000 years ago a group of people with no smart phones, no internet access and no frequent flyer miles were commanded by Jesus to reach the world. And instead of making excuses they simply went “All In”…and our world has NEVER been the same!

It has happened before…what if it happened again? This year? At Southbrook Church?

I can promise you this..

  • It would impact your life in ways you could never imagine as you simply did not “survive” but rather learn how to THRIVE!
  • It would impact this church in that we would take giant leaps in our quest to mark the body, community, world and future for Christ.
  • It would impact our state and the world as we see people fall more in love with Jesus…and, as a natural byproduct of doing so begin to love sin less and less!
  • It would impact family members and friends whom we deeply care about.

This coming Sunday we are continuing our series, UPGRADE…it’s going to be THE BEST EVER, I cannot wait!
