Sunday Evening Mind Dump

  • Took a little bit of a blog break last week. Thanks for the breather, gang! I also skipped my first ‘Sunday Evening Mind Dump’ in quite a while—glad to be back!
  • We wrapped up our 5 week series on the book of James entitled, “Moxie” today. I learned something…when going through a book of the Bible, don’t set an ending date! I could have used at least 5 more weeks to drill into this challenging book. If you missed any of it, you can go HERE and watch the videos or HERE and listen to the podcasts.
  • We ended each of our worship times the same way James ends the book—by giving those in need the opportunity to pray and be anointed with oil.

“ 13-15Are you hurting? Pray. Do you feel great? Sing. Are you sick? Call the church leaders together to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Master. Believing-prayer will heal you, and Jesus will put you on your feet. And if you’ve sinned, you’ll be forgiven—healed inside and out.” James 5:13-15 (The Message)

It was a precious time of healing and trusting God to move. There are a lot of hurting folks out there. Be praying for all your brothers and sisters at Southbrook!

  • Can’t wait to bring the good news of the Gospel message to literally millions of Haitians in less than 3 weeks! This is an incredible opportunity, gang and I covet your prayers for a great harvest down there! Also, Pastor Rene Joseph (the pastor we partner with in Haiti and whose home all our mission teams stay at) will be joining me this coming weekend for a special Halloween stand alone message entitled, “Fear Not.” Please come early as these services promise to be very well attended.
  • Looking forward to the start of our marriage series in two weeks, entitled, “Better with You!” Invite everyone you know—married or just dating. God moved HUGE at this time last year in our, “Heartbreak Warfare” series. We’re praying for an even greater impact this time around! Click HERE to see the trailer.
