- I know this sounds unbelievable given all that The Lord Jesus has done @ Southbrook Church over the relatively short time of its existence but…this was my favorite weekend EVER! …for so many reasons…
- First and absolutely foremost, many, many people gave their lives to Jesus @Southbrook today! In fact, at the first service I was so shocked I let it slip out from the pulpit that I didn’t think I’d ever seen that many people step over the line of faith to embrace Jesus at one time before!! The FIT (First Impressions Team) was shocked as well and we had trouble counting them all in just a minute or two. I’ll go with what I know for sure…at least 134 people gave their lives to Jesus today and nearly 200 for the 3 week “Overcome” series! To God be the glory—ALL the glory! We cast the net but it is God and God alone who saves! I’ll try to give you an update once the dust settles—In the meantime, please be lifting up all these new brothers and sister in Christ and pray that they will become first rate God Chasers!
- Our 11:00 service was the largest we have ever had!—The most people we have ever stuffed into the worship center and it showed. I won’t lie to you—that was fun to see! And 9:00 wasn’t far behind!
- Our Monroe campus didn’t just see their biggest ever weekend, they blew it out! Way to go Monroe!
- For those of you who missed my message in Monroe–it will be up on video by Tuesday. Look for it then!
- Our volunteers all gathered at 8:00 to get ready for the onslaught at our first ever FUSE volunteer meeting! It was awesome to see so many volunteers gathered in one place! Sometimes it’s easy to forget how many people serve on a typical weekend—this was a great reminder! BTW Brookies—You all did the best I have ever seen—anywhere! We have the very best volunteers around and today you couldn’t miss it! From the golf cart shuttle drivers to the greeters all over to Children’s church and worship, production, café and beyond—YOU ALL ROCKED! Thank you! Oh, and someone got a few shots of FUSE—take a look!
- Though the ultimate overcoming is to overcome death through trusting in Christ Jesus for eternal life—there are all kinds of hurts and pains and betrayals and addictions, abuse and unfair things in this life that can imprison us—during the last few weeks—praise God!–we’ve seen many delivered from everything imaginable. If you get the chance, go here and then here to watch 2 of their stories! You’ll be glad you did!
- LOVED the opener from the Southbrook praise band @ Weddington! Very original, very well done. Unfortunately you had to be there to see it. As they say, you snooze, you lose!
- Can’t wait for Next week as we start a brand new four week series called, “The Deep!” Trust me, you do not want to miss even one week of this!
- My kids are really too old for Easter egg hunts, but Michelle and I (well, mostly Michelle) refuse to let it go. And I think she just might have found a great way to drag it out for a few more years…fill the eggs with cold, hard cash!
