What a week it has been! Some of the most intense emotions in years.
- First, it was hard to even concentrate on Haiti at first because of the heartbreak and concern we all experienced with Garren Janes being in the hospital. Haiti (our small team would soon discover) brought heartache of its own.
- The ups and downs made us feel like human yo-yo’s. We would cling to whatever news we received of Garren’s progress—sometimes good, sometimes concerning—most times a waiting game. To hear upon our return last night that Garren has opened his eyes, was the greatest possible highlight to a wonderful week of ministry for Jesus!
- The work that Pastor Rene has begun in Haiti is nothing short of mind-boggling! Wait until you hear what God can do through one ordinary individual who simply answers the call of God with, “Here am I, Lord! Send me!”
- Heard we weren’t able to get any footage up at church but I can at least show you a bit of what we experienced here…
- Brookies, there is much to be done in Haiti before these people will ever see life restored to normal. But the real opportunity right now is that these people have no desire to go back to the way it was. They are a nation broken before God and in the midst of revival and renewal. Our hope as a church is to have a ginormous impact on this nation by reaching the lost, healing the sick and rebuilding lives. I hope to see us take several more trips this year as a church. Start praying now as to what the Lord would have you do for this great mission!
- This weekend begins a three week mini series on the family. Another thing that’s been on my heart is the total collapse of the traditional family in America and the dissolving of marriage and Christian values. If you want to know how you can see your family say strong and even thrive spiritually in this environment—join us for the next three weeks for our series, “My House.”
- I’m glad to be home gang! Can’t wait to see you Wednesday night for the continuation of our midweek series, “Losing My Religion,” A walk through the book of Galatians.
See you then!
