Sunday Evening Mind Dump

A hundred page post wouldn’t be enough to download all that has happened this week—some good—some bad—some incredibly painful…

  • Pastor Geoffrey, (one of my closest friends and our Southbrook Monroe Campus pastor) and his wife, Nancy, have had to face something no parents should ever face. Their son, Garren, collapsed Friday at school and was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Hundreds—perhaps thousands—are praying around the clock for this godly young man. We covet all of your prayers at this difficult time.
  • Got to see what it’s like for an entire church to come together in prayer on the behalf of a brother in Christ. At the end of the 9:00 and 11:00 am services at our Weddington campus hundreds came forward, knelt down, and lifted Garren up in prayer. That’s the church!

  • Hey men, are you still wanting to be the leaders God called you to be? I’m trying to help in every way I can. Tomorrow morning at 6:15 in the student building at Weddington is just one of those ways! See you there!
  • There’s a fire in the people @ Southbrook these days—hundreds and hundreds crossing over from fan to follower and still more going from followers to flat out God chasers! Don’t know what I’m talking about? Notafan.com ß start there and you’ll see!
  • Thought I wouldn’t be into the Superbowl this year…found out Garren’s favorite team of his favorite sport is the Pittsburg Steelers. Go Steelers!!! Now, if you don’t mind, I’m praying for a comeback with 3 minutes left!

See you all in the morning!
