Something absolutely Divine returns (for me) this weekend!
I’ve had a couple weeks away from teaching the gospel of John and I’m none to happy about it! But I am extra excited that I get to dig in again this weekend with one of the most intriguing and compassionate stories in all of scripture— “The woman caught in adultery.” Jesus treated this woman the way He treats us all—with compassion and forgiveness. To the religious leaders she was something different:
- Trash
- A meaningless, throw-away life
- A pawn to be used in their schemes
- A tool to be used to pry loose Jesus’ hold on the masses
- A distraction to be used to break the spell they thought Jesus had cast upon the people
The point is—to the religious leaders she was NOTHING!
To Jesus, she meant EVERYTHING!
