Trail fail ain’t fun—that much you can be very sure of.
If you don’t have any idea what I am talking about, go to yesterday’s post, here, or just scroll down.
So, the gist of what I’m saying is that we ‘become what we are committed to.’ We head straight for that which has our complete focus. It happens with nasty obstacles on a mountain biking trail and it happens in life.
- Focus on other women when you’re married and you will soon be stuck with them and without your wife
- Focus on doing drugs and you will be a ‘drug attic’ before you know it.
- Focus on skills in a sport you really love and, if you have any talent for it at all, you will become good at it.
- Focus on one political party over another and you will wear that party’s label eventually.
- Focus on your inadequacies as a person and you will see yourself as a loser before long.
- Focus on the positive and you will be an upbeat person who is fun to be around.
- Focus on the glass as half full and life will follow
- Focus on the glass as half empty and the same will happen in the opposite direction.
Focus is an interesting creature. It has the strange ability to draw you in and make you like the object of your focus.
BTW, it’s not all bad news.
- Focus on getting to know God and you will become more like Him.
- Focus on reading and studying God’s Word and you will grow in your knowledge and understanding of God.
- Focus on being a good cook and everyone will want to come to your house for dinner! LOL!
- Focus on the Holy Spirit and His power in your life and you will live a life of power and victory others only dream of.
- Focus on the following verses and you will become better in almost every area of your life:
Matthew 22:37–38, ‘…Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’a]’>[a] 38This is the first and greatest commandment.’
Let everything you do begin and end here and you’ll move on down the trail—closer and closer to Jesus!
