Still Hearing Great Things!

I’ve more or less dubbed what we did last Sunday as—the gift that keeps on giving!

Nearly every hour on the hour I hear from individuals, schools, churches or help centers of the impact that “Operation Be the Church,” had on our community. Some of it was expected and warms your heart nonetheless

  • We were able to help families get some basic necessities that they would not have otherwise been able to afford.
  • We helped do some work at several schools where the economic crunch has left them unable to address routine things.
  • We were able to help one church (in concert with some of their own folks) do some much needed maintenance and repairs.

But then there were all the unexpected things like the impact it had on all those doing the serving! Seems Jesus was on to something!

Hi Pastor Rob

Just wanted to let you know how AWESOME this past Sunday turned out to be!! My family and I served at East Elementary School, can we do that again soon? The bible is so true when it says “It is better to give than to receive.” Also there is fulfillment in following Christ’s example to be a servant. It’s hard to believe that The King of Kings and Lord of Lords came to serve and not be served!!

We are new to Southbrook: been attending the Monroe campus for about 6 months now. We are connected to a small group (Brian and Lisa Hale) and love it!

I want to say “Thank You” for shepherding God’s flock and feeding our souls! I pray for you and Pastor Geoffrey and all the other pastors who are seeking God’s face wholeheartedly!

I’m a youth worker, I was a youth worker for Pastor Daryl many years ago at Central Church of God and looking forward to serving my Southbrook family!

May the Lord make his face shine upon you and your family

We also received a card from the principal at East Elementary school saying how thankful she is and how she has never ever heard of a church actually living out what they preach as well as Southbrook!

AWESOME! GO JESUS!

I’ll try to share a few of these over the next few posts but suffice it to say, this is turning into the gift that keeps on giving—for our community and us!
