As ‘often as you do this,’ or ‘do this often’?

1 Corinthians 11:23-25 (New King James Version)

Institution of the Lord’s Supper

23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat;[a] this is My body which is broken[b] for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

I’ve heard this scripture approached a couple different ways. Some say we learn from this that we should partake in communion ‘often’ others say we just need to remember what Christ did for us (as we partake) ‘as often as’ we take communion.

I say, ‘why aren’t we thinking of this 24/7?’

The last Wednesday of every month @ SCC is a ‘Night of Worship’ with music that is off the hook, and a time to gather for communion which is moving and powerful every time.

Come join us at 6:30 at Southbrook for this special (last of the school year) communion.

Especially of you haven’t been in a good while. It might help you with that ‘often’ stuff.
